SWIFT WATER COURSES
It is run over 1 or 2 days – usually a Saturday & Sunday. Saturday's session will be more gentle to allow you to get some river/craft skills/experience and I stress, at all stages, it's safety first, safety always and NO compromise. We'll adopt the "get out & scout process" and discuss certain rapids and what options are available to run them, safely. We will also give a safety intro & briefing each day highlighting the expected features, hazards you will encounter along the way. It will be run by Rob Hill, who himself is a skilled and experienced swift water certified paddler and CSA (Canoe South Africa) KNCU Safety officer.
Course will be the Swift Water Self Rescue one, with emphasis on river features, hazards, river rescue, use of rescue gear, how/when & recovery options .
